Jumping off the Roof

Yesterday we received our new crash mat for our stunt guy, Brent Longenecker, on the Believe Tour. So, our staff, reverting back to our junior high days, had to try out the new toy immediately. We didn't do quite the same tricks that Brent will do, but we all did jump off the roof.

When you jump you are suppose to land on your butt or back and not let your hands or elbows hit the mat first. As you will be able to see in the video below, all but Seth, our lighting intern, did not have a problem with that.

Next time you are jumping off the roof, make sure your feet don't get caught in the gutter.

Jr. High Small Group #1

This past Sunday we had our first Jr. High Small Group of the semester. The 8th grade boys came over to my house and we just watched the Packers and the Giants (no comment on that game) and ate pizza. Because it was the first one of the semester, we just hung out for a couple hours.

My favorite part of the night was once Halftime started, two of the boys decided it was wrestling time and then proceeded to wrestle for the next 45 minutes in the middle of my living room. Isn't that what halftime is for?

My favorite quote of the night was when I told them I would e-mail this week with some info. I then got the reply to send a text instead of an email because he never checks his email. ATnd then when he does check it he has 2,000 messages. I asked if it was spam, and then I found out it is not spam but myspace comment alerts. Oh my how times have changed since I was in Jr. High.

I am pretty excited about the group and hanging out with this group of guys every week. One small cool thing is that we all are big sports fans, especially baseball.

Why do we hate perfection?

The New England Patriots are 2 games away from being perfect in one season in the NFL since 1972. It seems like 9 out of 10 people do not want them to reach the milestone. Why are so many people against this from occurring?

Is it because:

- the Patriots were caught cheating in the first game of the season, and there is something wrong about a cheater not losing a single game all season?

- Quarterback Tom Brady is America's favorite un-wed father or because he went to Michigan?

- the Patriots have been the best team over the last 6 years? Would we be this passionate if the Vikings or the 49ers were about to go undefeated?

- Rodney Harrison just portrays smugness and is one of the dirtiest players in the NFL?

- everyone has to pull for the underdog, and the Patriots are never the underdog?

- they would have lost to the Ravens besides a timeout call and a phantom penalty?

- they should have lost to the Colts, and the Eagles (yes the Eagles with AJ Feeley as quarterback) could have beat them?

- the Giants should have beat them (if only the game ended after 3 quarters)?

- the score meaningless touchdowns to run up the score? Really, they beat the Redskins 52-7 and the Bills 56-10.

- the city of Boston is good at everything right now and that needs to stop?

- Who really likes Randy Moss anyways? (Unless he is on your fantasy team)

- Bill Belichick wears stupid sweaters?

Pick your reason, everyone hates the Patriots. Go Chargers.
